Why is my ceremony date not displaying correctly according to my registration?

Once registrations close, all graduates who have registered for a Curtin Graduation ceremony either in Perth or at one of the global locations, will receive a Graduation Confirmation OC to their Official Communication Channel in OASIS. For dates please visit the graduations website

Academic Regalia

Academic regalia can be hired from GFP Graduations. Students are encouraged to obtain their academic regalia from GFP Graduations who are the Universities preferred supplier.

Collection Times and Locations

Academic Regalia is available for collection prior to your ceremony at the Curtin University Campus.

All collection times and venues will be outlined in the Registration Confirmation sent to your Offical Communication (OC) in OASIS.

Adademic Dress FAQ's

Do I have to wear academic regalia to participate in my graduation ceremony?

Yes. You will be required to wear the official academic regalia for the degree that you are graduating from. The academic regalia set includes a gown, a sash in your faculty colour and a mortarboard or bonnet. (if applicable.) 

How do I choose my gown size?

When you place your order online you will have the option to select your size based on your height. Please note that you will be fitted for the correct size when you pickup your academic regalia.

How do I choose my mortarboard size?

Your mortarboard will be fitted when you collect your academic regalia.

When and where do I return my academic regalia?

Academic regalia must be returned on the day of your ceremony, after you have finalised your graduation photography.

What if I don't have credit card - can I pay cash?

We recommend you pay for your academic regalia with credit card. Alternatively, you can contact GFP on info@gfp.com.au or 1300 360 445 to make a booking and pay on the day with cash and/or a debit transaction, however this booking must be made in advance.

Do I have to wear anything specific under my gown?

Please note all academic regalia is open at the front, therefore what you are wearing underneath will be visible. Dress code for the ceremony is neat business attire and appropriate footwear. The gowns are quite warm so you may want to remove any heavy jackets.

How much will my academic regalia cost?

• HIRE: Bachelor or Master's set - $88 (includes gown, sash & mortarboard)
• PURCHASE:  Bachelor or Master's set - $168 (includes gown, sash & mortarboard)
• HIRE Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) Set - $150 (includes gown, hood & bonnet)
• PURCHASE: Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) Set - $550 (includes gown, hood & bonnet)
• Please note all Bachelor and Masters graduates retain their mortarboard 

Terms and Conditions

Return of Academic regalia - Academic regalia must be returned the same day of your ceremony. Failure to return your academic regalia within this period will incur a late fee. 
Cancellation of Order - If you need to cancel your order please contact GFP Customer Service to arrange a refund. Refunds are not applicable if your cancellation occurs within 24 hours of your ceremony.

How to wear your Academic Regalia

Gown - The gown is worn over the top of your clothing like a jacket, undergraduate's arms go through the sleeve, Masters students arm's slide through an opening in the sleeve.

Faculty Sash/Hood - The sash/hood is placed over the top of your gown, colour is shown at the cowl at the back of the gown, and along the front lapels of the gown. 

Mortarboard - The Mortarboard is worn with shallow peak to the front of your head and the deep peak at the back of the head, with the tassel placed on the left hand side of the head.

It is important to remember that the clothing you wear to your graduation ceremony will be visible as you walk across the stage. Neat, business attire is most appropriate, with a shirt and tie recommended for male graduates. It is best to avoid jeans and sneakers. Please also note that a mortarboard is usually worn as part of academic regalia, which should be kept in mind when planning your hair style.

GFP professional photography team will capture your moment on stage. Prints including the university logo, border and year of graduation are available for pickup at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Our on-the-spot framing service provides a professional option with a choice of mat colours, custom designed for your University award. 

Our plaques, available in Gold or Silver, can be mounted to a variety of bases and are a wonderful way to display your certificate at home or the office.
